Austin Packers wrestling splits Big 9 triangular with Mankato East and Rochester Century

The Austin Packers wrestling team played host to Mankato East and Rochester Century in a Big 9 Conference triagular Thursday evening at Packer Gym, and in the squad’s Paint the Town Pink event, the Packers fell to the Cougars 64-7, but downed Century 22-12.

Head Coach Jacob Nelson stated that Lathan Wilson picked up two wins on the evening with a 14-3 major decision over Mankato East’s Elliot Betz, and he also pinned Century’s Nick Zetah.  Garrett Clark also earned his first career varsity win over Sam Johnston Thursday evening with a fall in the 3rd period.

Austin will return to the mat Saturday at Caledonia, with the action set to start at 10:00 a.m.
