Austin Packers volleyball team swept by Mankato West 3-0 in regular-season finale
The Austin Packers volleyball team was looking to close out the regular season with a win at Packer Gym Tuesday evening in a Big 9 Conference matchup with the Mankato West Scarlets, but it was the visiting Scarlets registering a 3-0 sweep by the scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-17.
Alia Retterath led Austin in set assists Tuesday evening with nine, plus she registered two kills and four digs, Kristen Nielsen led the Packers defensively Tuesday night with 17 digs, plus she also led the club in ace serves with two and put up two set assists,  Peyton Manahan led Austin in kills with five, plus she chipped in six digs, Emily Hjelmen registered four kills and one ace block, Nora Tweeten tallied two kills and Ava Denzer added two kills, one set assist and six digs defensively.
With the loss, Austin ends the regular season with a record of 1-10 in the Big 9 Conference and 5-18 overall.  The Packers will return to action in the Section 1AAA volleyball tournament, which is scheduled to get underway next Wednesday, October 26th.
