Austin Packers volleyball falls to Red Wing 3-0 Saturday

The Austin Packers volleyball team, who were downed by Mankato East in their season opener last Thursday were looking to get on the winning track in Red Wing Saturday, but it was the Wingers coming away with a 25-14, 26-24 and 25-15 sweep.

Lexi Stich led the Packers in kills Saturday with seven, Kennedy Bell added four and Ava Broverhuis chipped in two kills, plus she led Austin with three ace blocks Saturday.  Briella Wempner led Austin in set assists Saturday with eight, Chloe Jenkins added six and Madisyn Retterath led the Packers in digs with 13.

Austin is out to an 0-2 start, and they return to action Tuesday night at Packer Gym versus Owatonna, with the varsity match scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
