The Austin Packers girls’ tennis team is out to a quick start this 2020 season as they blew past the Faribault Falcons 6-1 at Paulson Courts in Austin Friday.

The Packers took three of the four singles matches as Chloe Schmitt downed Stacie Petricka of Faribault in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.  Gracie Schmitt blanked Lindsey Ravenhorst of the Falcons at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Kaitlin Meirgerd downed Nell Gibbs of Faribault 6-1, 6-0.

Austin swept the doubles matches as Madison Hogan and Lauren Wernimont of the Packers were a winner in straight sets over Rylie Starkson and Sara McColley of Faribault 6-2, 6-4.  Siri Ansorge and Samatha Krueger of the Packers downed Hailey Reuvers and Ashley Rost of the Falcons in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 and Natalie Haynes and Jadyn Moriarty swept Bailey Peterson and Avery Rein of Faribault 6-3, 7-5.

Austin is back in action at home Tuesday afternoon with a Big 9 dual match with Rochester Mayo.  The start time at Paulson Courts is 4:30 p.m.
