The Austin Packers girls’ swimming and diving team, who swam their portion of the virtual Big 9 Conference meet last Wednesday evening learned that they finished in ninth place with a total of 107 points.  Rochester Century took first with 388 points, followed by Northfield with 372 in second.  Rochester Mayo was third with a total of 297.5, followed by Mankato East in fourth with 218.5, Mankato West in fifth with 191 points, Rochester John Marshall in sixth place with 164, then came Faribault in seventh place with 151 points, followed by Red Wing in eighth place with 121 points, followed by the Packers, then Winona in 10th place with 103 points, Owatonna in 11th with 84 and Albert Lea 12th with 68.

Top ten finishes for Austin included the 200 medley relay team of Madelynn Murley, Molly Sheehan, Molly Garry and Mackenzie Carter taking eighth place with a time of 1:59.97.  Sheehan was 10th in the 200 individual medley with a final time of 2:25.32, Garry was ninth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.10 seconds and Rachel Engelstad was ninth in the diving competition with a final score of 285.80.

Molly Garry was eighth in the 100 freesytle with a time of 57.69, the 200 freestyle relay team of Molly Sheehan, Madelynn Murley, Sydney Tobak and Molly Garry was eighth with a time of 1:48.12 and Sheehan was sixth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.39.

Austin will compete in the Section 1A meet at Bud Higgins Pool at 6 p.m. Friday evening.
