Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team second at Spamtown Invitational Saturday

The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team played host to five other teams for their own Spamtown Invitational at Bud Higgins Pool Saturday, and it was Rochester Century taking first place with 657 team points, the Packers were second with 397.5 points, Red Wing took third with 387 points, Winona/Winona Cotter took fourth with 383.5 points, Rochester John Marshall came in fifth with 231 team points and Tri-City United was sixth with 174 points.

High finishers for Austin Saturday included the 200 medley relay team Gracie Greenman, Kaylie Butts, Olivia Walsh and Alivia Hemry, who took third with a time of 2:02.14, Walsh was second for the Packers in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.71, just behind first-place Sophia Blixt of Century at 25.32 seconds, and Walsh was also second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.49.

Gracie Greenman finished second for the Packers in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:41.43, the 200 freestyle relay team of Alivia Hemry, Kaylee Butts, Abby Boysen and Olivia Walsh were second with a final time of 1:46.89, Greenman took third in the 100 backstroke with a 1:06.14, and Austin’s 400 freestyle relay team of Abby Boysen, Jaycie Pollak, Anna Kossman and Gracie Greenman was fourth Saturday with a final time of 4:10.48.

The Packers return to action Thursday evening in a Big 9 Conference dual meet in Rochester versus the John Marshall Rockets, with the varsity action scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
