The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team was back into action Thursday night in a virtual Big 9 dual meet with the Winona Winhawks at Bud Higgins Pool, and it was the Winhawks eking out a 91-89 win.

Austin’s 200 medley relay team of Madelynn Murley, Molly Sheehan, Molly Garry and Olivia Walsh were first Thursday evening with a time of 2:01.22, and Murley was first for the Packers in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:14.71.  Teammate Lucy Lagervall was third in the event with a final time of 2:22.49.  Sheehan took first for Austin in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.79, while Garry was only .05 behind Sheehan for second with a time of 26.84.  The Packers were second and third overall in the diving competiton, as Rachel Engelstad took second with a final score of 158.47, and Reese Norton was third with a total score of 158.17.

Austin will be back in action Thursday, October 1st against Faribault in another virtual Big 9 dual meet, with the action set to start at 6:00 p.m.
