Austin Packers girls’ swimming and diving team downs Rochester John Marshall 94-87 Thursday evening

The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team traveled to Rochester Thursday night to take on the John Marshall Rockets in a Big 9 Conference dual meet, and it was the Packers leaving the Med City with a 94-87 win.

High finishers for Austin Thursday night included the 200 meter relay team of Gracie Greenman, Alivia Hemry, Olivia Walsh and Abbie Boysen taking second with a time of 2:01.68, Hemry took first for the Packers in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:17.43, Greenman was second in the 200 indivdual medley with a time of 2:28.02 and Abbie Boysen,Anna Kossman and Kaylee Butts were 1-2-3 for Austin in the 50 freestyle with times of 27.08, 27.64 and 27.72, respectively.

In 1-meter diving, Alayna Kennedy took first for the Packers with a final score of 227.25, and teammate Rachel Engelstad was third with a score of 202.90.  Jaycie Pollak was third for Austin in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:18.06, Olivia Walsh and Kaylee Butts were 2-3 in the 100 freestyle with times of 56.63 and 1:01.74 and Anna Kossman and Sydney Tobak were 2-3 in the 500 freestyle with times of 6:21.89 and 6:41.66.

Austin’s 200 meter relay team of Olivia Walsh, Abbie Boysen, Kaylee Butts and Alivia Hemry took first with a time of 1:48.06, Gracie Greenman was first for the Packers in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.96, and teammate Addison Walsh was third with a time of 1:20.39.

Austin returns to action next Tuesday at Bud Higgins Pool versus the Rochester Mayo Spartans in a Big 9 Conference dual, with the action scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. that evening.
