The Austin Packers girls’ soccer team was looking to snap a five-game losing streak Saturday afternoon at Jim Gustafson Field in Albert Lea versus the Tigers in a Big 9 Conference matchup, but it was the Tigers picking up two goals apiece from Morgan Lurhing and Kendall Kennis on their way to a 4-0 lead at halftime and a 7-1 win.

Maddie Schneider, Jacy Rosas and Kailey Boettcher also tallied for Albert Lea, and keepers Mallory Lurhing and Lucy Scherman combined to make six saves.  Marie Tolbert scored the lone goal for Austin in the second half, and keeper Mya Walters faced 22 shots and made 15 saves in goal for the Packers, who are now 1-6 on the season, and they return to action at Art Hass Stadium Tuesday night versus Rochester John Marshall,  with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
