Austin Packers girls’ hockey shut out by Owatonna Monday evening 5-0
The Austin Packers girls’ hockey team was on the road at Owatonna Monday evening to take on a Huskies squad battling for the Big 9 Conference title with Northfield, and Olivia Herzog scored two goals to help lead Owatonna to a 5-0 win.
Herzog was one of four different goal scorers for the Huskies in the first period as Owatonna outshot the Packers in the game 43-5. Austin goaltender Shelby Davidson turned aside 38 of the 43 shots she faced, while Huskies netminder Ava Wolfe made five saves to earn the shutout win.
With the loss, the Packers are now 5-7-1 overall on the season, and 5-7-1 in the Big 9 Conference. Austin will look to get back on the winning track tonight in Rochester versus the Century Panthers at the Rec Center, with face-off at 7:15 p.m.
