The Austin Packers girls’ hockey team was on the road at Graham Arena in Rochester Thursday night for a Big 9 Conference game versus the Century Panthers, and five different Packers scored while Shelby Davidson turned aside 28 shots in a 6-0 win.

Alexis Stich scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal at 5:01 of the first period, and Kate Holtz then tallied short-handed at 9:29 to make it a 2-0 Austin lead.  Sara Wangen capped the scoring in the first period at 14:26 to increase the Packer lead to 3-0, and Jordyn McCormack, who assisted on the first two goals tallied one of her own at 6:07 of the 2nd period to make it a 4-0 lead.  Holtz then lit the lamp at 11:46 to increase the Austin lead to 5-0, and Mikiah Rumsey’s unassisted goal at 7:42 of the third period provided the 6-0 final.

Shelby Davidson turned away all 28 shots she faced to earn her first shutout of the season, while Kendra Delaney and Abigail Connors both saw time between the pipes for the Panthers.  Delaney turned aside 13 of the 14 shots she faced, while Connors was peppered with 36 shots and made 31 saves.
