Austin Packers girls’ golf competes at Big 9 meet in Winona Thursday

The Austin Packers girls’ golf team took part in a Big 9 meet at The Bridges Golf Course in Winona Thursday, and the Packers shot a team score of 589.  Northfield claimed first place at the meet with a team score of 364, follwed by Rochester John Marshall ten strokes back in second at 374, then came Red Wing one stroke back in third at 375, followed by Mankato West and Owatonna both at 397, Albert Lea with a 421, the host Winhawks at 428 follwed by Rochester Century at 430, then Rochester Mayo at 445 and Faribault at 475.

Individual scores for Austin included Mallory Brown with the low round of 122, Anita Rao shot a 129, Allie Alm fired a 139, Izzy Sellers finished at 141 and Anna Kossman shot a 146.

The Packers return to action at home at the Austin Country Club next Monday for a Big 9 triagular meet with Mankato East and Northfield, with the action scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
