Austin Packers girls basketball team felled by Owatonna 76-42 Friday evening
The Austin Packers girls basketball team was looking for win number three in a row Friday night as they traveled to Owatonna to take on the Huskies, winners of six out of their last eight coming into the contest, and it was the Huskies jumping out to a 40-22 lead at the half on their way to a 76-42 win.
The Packers had two players score in double figures in the game, as junior guard Ajiem Agwa tallied 16 points, guard Addison Walsh added 10 points, Quinn Osgood scored eight points, Mackenzie Brede totaled five points, forward Nora Sand chipped in two points, and guard Marissa Shute scored one point in a game that was called with 5:03 left due to an Owatonna player sustaining a neck injury, which required her to be transported to the hospital via ambulance.
With the loss, the Packers are now 8-11 overall on the season and 7-9 in the Big 9 Conference, and Austin returns to action at Ove Berven Gym Tuesday night versus the Faribault Falcons in a Big 9 Conference matchup, with the varsity tip-off at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
