Austin Packers girls basketball team falls at Winona 57-40 Tuesday evening

The Austin Packers girls basketball team faced a tough road test Tuesday evening as they traveled to Winona to take on a Winhawks squad sitting in second place in the Big 9 Conference just behind Rochester Mayo, and the Packers had a two-game winning streak snapped by a score of 57-40.

Winona led 27-18 at the half, and guard Marissa Shute led the Packers in scoring Tuesday evening with 16 points, guards Ajiem Agwa and Addison Walsh both added 10 points apiece, Atee Obang tallied three points, and Quinn Osgood scored one point.

With the loss, the Packers are now 4-6 in the Big 9 Conference and 5-8 overall on the season, and Austin returns to action at Ove Berven Gym Friday night versus the Mankato East Cougars, with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.  You’ll hear the game live on AM 1480 KAUS, with the pre-game show getting underway at 7:15 p.m.
