Austin Packers girls’ basketball routs Faribault 66-43
Hope Dudycha tallied 15 points, Kyra Walters scored ten of her 12 points in the second half, and ten different Austin Packers scored Friday night in a 66-43 win over Faribault at Ove Berven Gymnasium at Austin High School.
The Packers pulled out of an early 4-4 tie with a 16-0 run to lead 20-4, and they were never threatened the rest of the way. Austin went on the big run due largely to their defense, which forced 18 first half turnovers on the Falcons and 28 for the game.
Besides Dudycha and Walters, Erica Lundberg tallied nine points, Emma Dudycha chipped in eight, while Colie Justice added seven and Olivia Walsh and Elyise Hebrink added four apiece for the Packers, who were also 8 of 11 from the free throw line in the game.
Austin moves to 7-1 with the win and are now 10-1 overall on the season, while Faribault remains winless at 0-7 in the Big 9 Conference and 0-8 overall. The game Friday night wrapped up the 2019 portion of the Packers schedule, as they are now off until January 2nd when they will host Owatonna.
