Austin Packers girls’ basketball downs Northfield 53-29

The Austin Packers girls’ basketball team was looking for win number three in a row at Ove Berven Gym Tuesday evening versus the Northfield Raiders in a Big 9 Conference matchup, and guard Hope Dudycha led the Packers with 19 points in a 53-29 win and a sweep of the regular season series between the two clubs.

Austin led 24-14 at the half, and besides Dudycha’s 19 points, Olivia Walsh was also in double figures in scoring with 14 points, Cassidy Shute drained three of Austin’s six 3-point field goals for nine points, Reana Schmitt and Emma Dudycha each chipped in four points, Ruby Kvam tallied two points and forward Mya Walters scored one point for the Packers, who moved to 16-3 in the conference and 18-4 overall on the season with their fourth win in their last five games.

Austin will go for four straight wins in Winona Friday night versus the Winhawks in a Big 9 Conference and Section 1AAA matchup, with the varsity tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
