Austin Packers girls’ basketball downs Mankato East Thursday evening 64-57
The Austin Packers girls’ basketball team was looking to wind up the regular season with a win in Mankato Thursday evening against the East Cougars, and Hope Dudycha led three Packers in double figures with 28 points as Austin rallied from a 32-24 halftime deficit to win 64-57.
Besides Dudycha’s 28 points, forward Reana Schmit added 12 points, Cassidy Shute chipped in 11 points in the win, Olivia Walsh added seven points, Elyse Hebrink scored four points and Joy Deng added two points for the Packers, who wind up the regular season with a record of 8-4 overall, and 5-4 in the Big 9 Conference.
Austin now awaits word as to their seed and opponent in the Section 1AAA tournament, which is scheduled to start at the high seeds Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
