Austin Packers girls basketball downs Faribault 45-29 Tuesday evening

The Austin Packers girls basketball team wrapped up the toughest portion of their 2022-2023 schedule Tuesday night as they traveled to Faribault to take on the Falcons for their fourth game in a five-day stretch, and it was guard Ajiem Agwa leading three Packers in double figures in scoring with 13 points in a 45-29 win.

Austin led 25-13 at the halftime break, and the Packers wound up 10 for 25 from 2-point range in the game, and 5 for 15 from behind the 3-point arc, plus they were 10 for 17 from the free throw line in the victory.  Besides her 13 points, Agwa added five rebounds, one assist and two of Austin’s 16 steals in the game, Cassidty Shute tallied 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals, Quinn Osgood scored 10 points in the win Tuesday night, plus she added one rebound and two assists, Olivia Walsh chipped in six points and four rebounds, Nora Sand and Marissa Shute each scored two points, with Shute adding three rebounds, one assist and two steals, Marie Tolbert pulled in three rebounds, plus she added an assist and two steals, Mackenzie Brede and Addison Walsh added a rebound apiece, with Brede adding a steal as well, junior guard Kristen Nielsen tallied one assist and two steals, and Nyabol Mourwal added a steal as well in the win.

With the win, Austin is now 9-5 overall on the season and 8-2 in the Big 9 Conference, and the Packers are now off until Friday night when they play host to the Rochester John Marshall Rockets in a Big 9 Conference matchup at Ove Berven Gym, with the varsity tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
