The Austin Packers boys’ swimming and diving team was on the road Thursday night in Rochester to take on the Mayo Spartans in a Big 9 dual meet, and eight first-place finishes for the Packers lifted them past the Spartans for a 94-87 win.

Austin’s 200-meter relay team of Rafe Dolan Peterson, Logan Kelly, Winston Walkup and Aaron Knoll were first with a time of 1:42.66, while the team of Kenny Cabeen, Thomas Walker, Joseph Hilton and Riley Haugen was third with a final time of 2:01.09.  Trey Meyers was first in the 200-freestyle for the Packers with a time of 1:51.73, and Kelly was first in the 200-individual medley with a time of 2:00.68, while Walkup was second, finshing at 2:16.73.  Knoll took first for Austin in the 50-freestyle with a time of 23.40, and Riley Norton was first in diving with a final score of 202.30, followed by Riley Ferguson in second at 161.95 and teammate Zachary Evenson third with a final tally of 112.55.

Dolan Peterson took first in the 100-butterfly for the Packers with a time of 54.23, and Knoll was second in the 100-freestyle with a final time of 52.81.  Tate Miller was a third-place finisher in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:43.86, and Dolan Peterson was also first in the 100-backstroke with a time of 56.34.  Kelly was first for Austin in the 100-breaststroke with a final time of 58.40.

Austin was set to host the Section True Team Meet Saturday at Bud Higgins Pool, but the meet has been postponed to Monday, January 20th at 1:00 p.m.
