Austin Packers boys swimming and diving team downed in Winona 94-77 Thursday night
The Austin Packers boys swimming and diving team took to the road Thursday night to take on the Winona Winhawks in a Big 9 Conference dual meet, and it was the Winhawks who were victorious by a score of 94-77.
High finishers for the Packers Thursday night included the team’s 200 Medley Relay team of Brent Dahl, Hunter Peters, Lucas Meyers and Zach Evenson, as they took first with a time of 1:46.00, Dahl took first in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:55.01, and Peters earned a first-place finish for the Packers in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:17.36.
Zach Evenson finished first for Austin in the 50 Freestyle Thursday night with a final time of 23.15 seconds, Lucas Meyers took home first place in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:00.51, and Evenson and Hunter Peters were first and third, respectivley, in the 100 Freestyle with times of 52.49 and 54.48 seconds. Austin’s 200 Freestyle Relay team of Hunter Peters, Lucas Meyers, Zach Evenson and Noah Holt took first place with a final time of 1:40.12, and Brent Dahl came in first in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 56.43 seconds. Lucas Meyers was second for the Packers in the 100 Breaststroke Thursday night with a time of 1:09.74, and the 400 Freestyle Relay team of Francesco Lorenzoni, Noah Holt, Simon Pischke and Brent Dahl took first with a final time of 4:03.65.
The Packers return to action next Friday and Saturday in the Big 9 Conference meet, with the diving competition to be held in Northfield Friday beginning at 5:15 p.m., and the swimming portion of the tournament will take place at the Rochester Rec Center next Saturday starting at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon.
