Austin Packers boys soccer falls to Northfield 2-1 in two overtimes Tuesday evening

The Austin Packers boys soccer team was on the road Tuesday night for a Big 9 Conference match versus Northfield, and in a match that went into two overtimes, and a goal late in the first overtime period proved to be the game-winner for the Raiders in a 2-1 victory.

The match was scoreless after 80 minutes of regulation time, which brought on two five-minute overtime periods, and a goal for Northfield in the 83rd minute put the Raiders in front, 1-0, but just a short time later, senior midfielder Emiliano Hernandez Espindola answered for Austin to tie the match at 1-1.  The Raiders, though, were able to answer with only :44 left in the first overtime to take a 2-1 lead, and they were able to hang on through the second overtime for the win.
