After two consecutive losses, the Austin Packers boys soccer team was looking to get back on the winning track versus Red Wing in a Big 9 Conference matchup at Art Hass Stadium Tuesday evening, and senior forward Kaleb Tadesse tallied a pair of goals to help lift the Packers to a 3-0 win.
Tadesse led off the scoring with a goal in the 12th minute, and senior midfielder Oo Reh provided some insurance for Austin with a goal in the 56th minute to make the score 2-0. Tadesse scored his second goal of the game in the 63rd minute for the 3-0 final.
Senior goalkeeper Dane Mitchell made three saves for the shutout, as with the win, the Packers are now 1-1 in the Big 9 Conferene and 2-2 overall on the young season.
Austin returns to action in the Big 9 Conference Thursday evening in Owatonna versus the Huskies, with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
