Austin Packers boys’ soccer blanks Faribault in season opener 5-0

The Austin Packers boys’ soccer team, coming off a Big 9 Conference title and a third straight appearance in the State Class A boys’ soccer tournament in 2019 were on the road in Faribault Tuesday evening for their 2020 opener, and four first half goals proved more than enough for a win as the Packers wound up blanking the Falcons 5-0.

Andres Garcia, one of the players back from last season to help lead the Packers scored the first and last goals of the game, and Tu Reh tallied a goal and an assist, Henry Tolbert and Jose Valladares, who also return for Austin this year both tallied a goal apiece and Poe Reh added an assist for the Packers, who start out 1-0 and will host Red Wing for their home opener Thursday evening, with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
