Austin Packers boys’ hockey falls to Rochester John Marshall Thursday evening 7-1

Sam King tallied two goals and an assist, Sam Hanson also added two goals and the Rochester John Marshall Rockets downed the Austin Packers 7-1 in Big 9 boys’ hockey action at the Rochester Rec Center Thursday evening.

John Marshall took a 7-0 lead before Garrett Schaefer scored the lone goal for Austin, unassisted  at 14:23 of the third period.  Bray Klapperick faced a total of 65 shots in the contest and made 57 saves, while Rockets netminder Carson Arthur turned away 22 of the 23 shots he saw to pick up the win in net.

With the loss, Austin falls to 0-11 overall and 0-10 in the Big 9 Conference.  The Packers are back in action next Thursday at Red Wing, with face-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
