The Austin Packers boys’ hockey team took to the road Tuesday evening to face the Northfield Raiders in a Big 9 Conference matchup, and Carson VanZullen tallied three goals for a hat trick and Ryan Will added two goals as the Raiders blanked the Packers 12-0.

Nine different Northfield players notched at least one goal as the Raiders tallied six goals in both the first and second periods.  Austin netminder Bray Klapperick faced 49 shots and made 37 saves, while Micah Wilson turned away all six shots he faced for the shutout win for Northfield.

With the loss, Austin now stands at 0-8 on the season, and the Packers are back on the ice Thursday night for their first of two non-conference games this season as they will play host to Section 1A  rival Rochester Lourdes at Riverside Arena.  Face-off will be at 7:15 p.m.
