Austin Packers boys golf team wins home Big 9 Conference quadrangular Monday

The Austin Packers boys golf team played host to a Big 9 Conference quadrangular at the Austin Country Club Monday, with Northfield, Mankato East and Mankato West in town along with the Packers to battle windy and cold conditions, and it was Austin earning a five-stroke victory with a team total of 337.  Northfield took second place with a 342, followed by Mankato East at 347, and Mankato West at 352.

Freshman Isaac Anderson and sophomore Cale Tupy led the Packers individually with identical rounds of 82, freshman Elijah Krueger was close behind with an 83, junior Izaac Erickson fired a round of 90, junior Owen O’Rourke carded a round of 93, and sophomore Carter Hovelsrud finished with a score of 100.

The Packers are right back into action today (Tuesday) as they will battle the elements, along with Faribault and Rochester John Marshall at the Faribault Golf and Country Club in a Big 9 Conference triangular, with tee-off scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
