Austin Packers boys’ basketball team winds up regular season with 75-63 win over Rochester Mayo

The Austin Packers boys’ basketball team closed out the regular season at Packer Gym Saturday with a game against Big 9 rival Rochester Mayo, and Emmanuel Manyoun led four Packers in double figures in scoring with 23 points, plus five rebounds, three steals and two assists as Austin downed Mayo for their 10th win in a row 75-63.

Besides Manyoun’s 23 points, Teyghan Hovland tallied a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, plus he also added five assists and a steal, Gage Manahan chipped in 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal, and Jordan Ransom scored 10 points in the win.  Okey Okey tallied eight points, six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot, and Dieth Duop contributed seven points, six rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot for Austin, who winds up the regular season with a record 10-2 in the Big 9 Conference and 15-2 overall on the season.

The Packers return to action Wednesday night as the top seed  in the Section 1AAA quarterfinals against eighth-seeded Albert Lea, with tip-off at Packer Gym at 7 p.m.
