Austin Packers boys’ basketball team routs Faribault 87-56 Saturday afternoon

Agwa Nywesh put together an impressive stat line of 18 points, three rebounds, three assists and nine steals to help lead the Austin Packers boys’ basketball team to a 87-56 rout of Faribault in Big 9 Conference action Saturday afternoon at Packer Gym.

The 87 points were a season-high for Austin, who led 49-30 at the half.  Besides Nywesh, Moses Idris tallied 13 points, four rebounds and four assists, Pierre Lilly scored 12 points, Victor Idris added 10 points and Jacob Venega chipped in with six points for the Packers, who have won two in a row.  Austin returns to action Monday night at home against a very tough Rochester Mayo squad, with the varsity tip-off scheduled  for 7:30 p.m.  You’ll hear the game live on AM 1480 KAUS, world-wide at myaustinminnesota.com, and on the I Heart Radio app.
