The 4-1 Austin Packers boys’ basketball team took on the 4-1 Rochester Century Panthers in Rochester Tuesday evening in the third game of a four-game road swing, and Victor Idris tallied a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, plus he added two assists, two steals and two blocked shots to help lead the Packers to a 56-49 win.

Emmanuel Manyoun tallied 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal, Teyghan Hovland added 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot, Gage Manahan chipped in eight points, plus he led Austin in steals with three and Okey Okey wound up hitting the Packers only 3-point field goal in the game in finishing with five points.  Austin was only 1-20 from beyond the 3-point arc while Century was 10 for 23, but the Packers were 16-19 from the free throw line for 84%, while the Panthers were only 5 for 10, or 50%.  Austin also outrebounded Century 32-25, and the Packers defense racked up nine steals and forced 14 turnovers in the win.

With the win, Austin is in a three-way tie for second place in the Big 9 Conference behind 6-0 Mankato East at 5-1 with Mankato West and Owatonna.  The Packers will complete their four-game road swing Friday night in Mankato against the East Cougars, with the B-Squad tip-off at 6:00 p.m., and the varsity action to follow at 7:30 p.m.
