Austin Packers baseball falls to Northfield 7-2

The Austin Packers baseball team was looking for win number two in a row Tuesday at Dick Seltz Field as they played host to the Northfield Raiders in a Big 9 Conference matchup, but it was the Raiders earning their third win a row after opening the season with a pair of losses by the score of 7-2.

The Packers were led offensively by Dakota Retterath, who was 1 for 3 with a RBI, Nic Robertson went 1 for 2 with a run knocked in, Bryce Fisher was 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored, and Isaac Stromlund and Kody Blom both went 1 for 3.  Robertson was the first of four pitchers to appear in the game for Austin, and he was tagged with the loss in going 3 1/3 innings and giving up five runs, four earned on six hits, striking out one and walking three.

The Packers are now 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the Big 9 Conference.  Austin returns to action this (Wednesday) afternoon back at Dick Seltz Field at Riverland Community College in another Big 9 Conference matchup versus Owatonna in a game that was postponed due to weather from earlier in the season, with first pitch at 5:00 p.m.
