Austin Packer volleyball falls to Winona in Section 1AAA playoffs
The 11th seeded Austin Packers volleyball team opened the Section 1AAA tournament Wednesday evening at Winona against the 6th seeded Winhawks, and it was Winona moving on in four sets by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-16, 25-18.
Jordyn McCormack put down 15 kills to lead the way for the Packers in hitting, plus she added 20 digs and an ace serve. Kyra Walters piled up 14 kills while Kennedy Bell chipped in 8 kills and 5 digs defensivley. Avery Thompson tallied 6 kills and 9 digs for the Packers, who finish with a record of 11-16 on the season.
With the win, Winona advances to play number three-seeded Rochester John Marshall in Rochester tonight (Friday) at 7:00 p.m. Other matches tonight in Section 1AAA will feature top-seeded Northfield entertaining 8th seeded Rochester Century, number four-seeded Rochester Mayo hosting fifth-seeded Lakeville South and number two-seeded Lakeville North hosting seventh-seeded Farmington, all starting at 7:00 p.m.
