Austin native takes over as Superintendent of Austin Public Schools

Austin native Dr. Joey Page recently took the reins as the new Superintendent of the Austin School District, taking over from David Krenz, who retired at the end of June.  Page, who served as Superintendent of the Byron School District for four years, spoke with KAUS News and talked about the factors involved in bringing him and his family back to Austin…

Dr. Page went on to talk about the current direction he sees the district traveling in at the start of his tenure as Superintendent as the district gets ready to welcome students back in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic…

Dr. Page started his career in education as a fourth grade teacher at Ridgeview Elementary in the Bloomington Public School District, and he also served as a third and fourth grade teacher and as Media Director for four years at Washburn Elementary in that district before moving on to serve as a Principal in both the Yellow Medicine East and Richfield School Districts before becoming the Superintendent for the Byron School District, and then coming back to Austin.
