Austin man sentenced to supervised probation on felony burglary charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who assaulted another man at a residence in Austin while armed with two knives and a BB gun rifle on March 25th has been sentenced to supervised probation in Mower County District Court.
20-year old Oliver Alejo was convicted and sentenced Thursday to three years of supervised probation after pleading guilty on September 1st to a felony charge of 2nd degree burglary of a dwelling. An 18-month prison sentence was stayed for three years if Alejo complies with the 21 different conditions of his probation, and he was given credit for 131 days already served.
Felony charges for 1st degree burglary, possession of a dangerous weapon or explosive, and for 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon against Alejo in the case were dismissed with his guilty plea. Alejo originally pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against him on April 10th.
