An Austin man facing felony firearm possession and theft charges stemming from an incident that took place in Austin on August 14th, 2022, and also felony domestic abuse no-contact order charges from another incident that took place in Austin on November 2nd, 2022, has been sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court.
21-year old Izaiah Solo Dampha, who is current being held in the Mower County jail on a felony 5th degree drug possession charge was convicted and sentenced Friday to five years, or 60 months in prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of being a violent felon in possession of a firearm stemming from the August 14th, 2022 incident. A felony charge for theft of a firearm, and a misdemeanor charge for tampering with a motor vehicle or entering without the owner’s permission in case were dismissed were dismissed with Dampha’s guilty plea, and Dampha was also convicted and sentenced Friday to one year and six months, or 18 months in prison for a felony charge of violating a domestic abuse, no-contact order stemming from the November 2nd, 2022 incident. Dampha was also convicted and sentenced Friday to one year and nine months, or 21 months in prison for an identical felony charge for violating a domestic abuse, no-contact order from the same incident, and Judge Kevin Siefken determined that Dampha will be allowed to serve the three prison sentences concurrently.
Dampha pleaded guilty to the three felony charges on January 6th of this year, and four additional felony charges against Dampha for violating a domestic abuse, no-contact order stemming from the November 2nd, 2022 incident were dismissed with his guilty pleas.
