Austin man sentenced to prison time on felony drug sale charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant on several different occasions in May and June of 2021 has been sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court. 

53-year old Michael James Weis was arrested in November 2021 after allegedly selling a total of 21.36 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Austin on six different occasions between May 14 and June 30 of 2021.  

Weis was convicted and sentenced Thursday to 75 months in prison on a felony charge of 2nd degree drugs, sale of 10 grams or more of a narcotic other than heroin and was sentenced to 75 months in prison, with credit for 77 days already served. 

Weis first pleaded guilty to the charge on December 6th, 2021.
