Austin man sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court on felony domestic abuse charge

An Austin man who pleaded guilty to a felony domestic abuse charge in March in Mower County District Court has been sentenced to prison time.

45-year old Kelvin Tyrone Cotton, Jr. was convicted and sentenced Monday to 21 months in prison for a felony charge of violating a domestic abuse no-contact order.  Cotton pleaded guilty to the charge on March 19th, and two additional felony charges of violating a domestic abuse no-contact order, a felony domestic abuse charge and a misdemeanor charge for domestic assault, intentionally inflicts or attempts to inflict bodily harm in the case were dismissed with Cotton’s guilty plea in the case.
