An Austin man who took part in an armed robbery at Ankeny’s Mini Mart No. 1 on November 11th, 2018 has been sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court.

21-year old Jeremy Simon Garcia was sentenced Friday to just over 10 years in prison for a felony charge of first-degree aggravated robbery with a dangerous weapon.  He received credit for 328 days already served.

Garcia received a concurrent sentence of 26 months in prison for a felony charge of escape from custody after he was found to have cut off a GPS monitor he was supposed to be wearing on May 29th. Garcia received credit for 149 days already served for that charge.

Garcia is currently serving a 108-month prison sentence for a felony first-degree aggravated robbery conviction out of Olmsted County.

In addition to prison time, Garcia must also pay $2,570 in fees and restitution.
