Austin man sentenced to jail time, supervised probation on felony drug possession charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man facing a felony drug possession charge in Mower County District Court stemming from an incident that took place on July 3rd, 2019 has been sentenced to jail time and supervised probation.

31-year old Tony Viramonh was sentenced Wednesday to 40 days in jail and five years of supervised probation for a felony 5th degree drug possession charge.  Viramonh was given credit for 40 days already served, and a 13-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if he successfully completes his probation.

A petty misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia against Viramonh in the case was dismissed with his guilty plea, which took place on August 8th, 2019.  Viramonh was convicted on the felony 5th degree drug possession charge on October 4th of that same year.
