Austin man injured Friday in two-vehicle t-bone type accident in Freeborn County

An Austin man was injured Friday in a T-bone type accident in eastern Freeborn County.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reported that 57-year old Randy Peter Hofius of Austin was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.  

The Sheriff’s Office stated that Hofius was driving a Mercury Sable westbound on 320th Street, when he reportedly did not stop at a stop sign and crashed into a Ford Taurus, driven by 61-year old Ronald Jensen of Albert Lea that was southbound on the Mower-Freeborn County Road. Jensen reportedly attempted to slow down but wasn’t able to do so in time.

Jensen was not injured.  Hofius was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
