Austin man charged with 2nd degree murder, attempted murder and 1st degree assault in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who is a suspect in a Tuesday morning stabbing assault at a residence in northwest Austin that left one person dead and another severely injured has been charged in Mower County District Court.

27-year old Jaime Arquimides Vaca has been charged with felonies for 2nd degree murder, not premeditated, 2nd degree murder while committing a felony, without intent, 2nd degree attempted murder, not premeditated with intent and 1st degree assault, great bodily harm.

Judge Jeffrey Kritzer set conditional bail at $500,000 and unconditional bail at $1 million. Vaca’s next appearance in Mower County District Court has been scheduled for December 28th.
