Austin girls tennis falls to Red Wing 4-3

The Austin Packers girl’s tennis team was on the road Friday to take on Red Wing in a Big 9 Conference match, and it was the Wingers able to eke out a 4-3 win on their home courts.

Picking up wins for Austin was Reana Schmitt at 1st singles as she defeated Rachel Borgen of Red Wing in straight sets 6-3, 7-6.  Gracie Schmitt at 3rd singles was also a winner in straight sets over Hannah Kosek of the Wingers 6-3, 6-0 and at third doubles, Siri Ansorge and Kali Meiergerd downed Jenna Siewert and Ella Bettich of Red Wing 6-1, 6-3.

Austin is back into action Tuesday at the Wescott Atheltic Complex against Albert Lea during Homecoming week at Austin High School.  The junior varsity and varsity matches get underway at  4:30 p.m.
