The Austin City Council held a number of public hearings for fall assessments at their regularly scheduled meeting Monday evening at the Austin City Council chambers.

The council moved to adopt assessment rolls for tax forfeited properties, snow removal, garbage and junk removal, grass and weed removal, miscellaneous sidewalk and indrive projects, administrative citations, hazardous housing and other unpaid charges.  Property owners have until October 31st to pay with no interest, otherwise the assessment will be placed on their taxes. In other business, the Austin City Council approved a sponsorship agreement for the Community Band, and they also approved an ordinance for a rural taxing district.  The council also moved to authorize the reallocation of funds in the Park and Recreation budget for the community recreation center, and they also moved to designate polling locations for the 2020 election.

The next regularly scheduled meeting for the Austin City Council will be held on Monday, October 21st at 5:30 p.m. at the Austin City Council chambers.
