Austin City Council approves construction agreement for 28th St. NE bridge project at Monday meeting

The Austin City Council approved a construction agreement with MnDOT at their meeting Monday evening for the 28th Street Northeast bridge project, which will see the replacement of the bridge over Interstate 90 near the Austin Country Club and Gerard Academy. Public Works Director Steven Lang stated to the council that a Hormel Foundation grant totaling $49,221 will cover the cost of aesthetic improvements for the project, which is expected to last approximately five months from May to October.
