The Austin Packers boys’ basketball team played host to fellow Big 9 Conference front runner Owatonna at Packer Gym Monday evening, and the Packers were able to rally from a 28-20 halftime deficit to upend the Huskies 52-49.

Teyghan Hovland led three Austin players in double figures with 15 points, including  three of the Packers’ nine 3-pointers in the game , plus three rebounds and three assists, Emmanuel Manyoun added 14 points, two assists and two steals, Victor Idris tallied a double-double for Austin with 11 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, which led the club, two blocks and one steal, and Okey Okey swished three 3-pointers for nine points, plus he also led the Packers in steals with three.

With the win, Austin moves into a second-place tie with Owatonna in the Big 9 Conference race at 6-2, and both team trail Mankato East and West by a game, as East was upended by Northfield Monday evening 71-62, and Mankato West knocked off Rochester Mayo 74-66.
