Austin boys’ basketball clips Mankato West Thursday night 63-56

The Austin Packers boys’ basketball team, the No. 8 team in the state in Class AAA was on the road Thursday evening in Mankato against the West Scarlets, and Okey Okey poured in 27 points to help lead the Packers to their fourth win in a row 63-56.

Agwa Nywesh was also in double figures in scoring for Austin Thursday night with 11 points, while Pierre Lilly and Lero Oman both added seven points, Teyghan Hovland added five points and Victor Idris four for the Packers, who move to 15-3 overall and 12-3 in the Big 9 Conference, two and a half games behind Mankato East who lead the way at 14-0 as they defeated Red Wing 72-36 Thursday evening.

Austin will be taking part in the Border Battle in LaCrosse, Wisconsin Saturday afternoon as they are scheduled to play Milwaukee Washington, with tip-off at the LaCrosse Center at 4:15 p.m.
