Jackson Oehlfke and Ian Bundy provided a strong pitching performance for the Austin 18U baseball team against Rochester John Marshall Monday evening, and the squad did just enough offensivley to win the Southern Minny League matchup 4-3 at Marcusen Park.

Oehlfke pitched four innings for the win, giving up one earned run on four hits, striking out four and walking two.  Ian Bundy earned a three-inning save as he struck out one batter for Austin, who trailed John Marshall 2-0 after an inning and a half when Brady Kominek scored on an error in the bottom of the second to halve the Rochester lead at 2-1.  Dawson Mills belted a two-RBI single in the bottom of the third to put Austin into the lead at 3-2, and Austin added what turned out to be the winning run in the fourth.  John Marshall answered with a run in the top of the fifth, but they would get no closer as Bundy shut the door on the mound the rest of the way.

Mills wound up 1 for 3 in the game with two RBI’s, Oehlfke helped his own cause by going 2 for 4 at the plate, Tony Ciola was 1 for 3 with a run scored, Andrew Schumacher was 1 for 3 with a stolen base and Kominek, Jed Nelson and Zach Bollingberg all scored runs for Austin, who have two regular season games left before the start of the Southern Minny League playoffs.
