Austin 17U baseball team wraps up regular season with 10-4 win versus Rochester John Marshall

The Austin 17U baseball team was on the road in Rochester Monday evening to wrap up regular season play in the Southern Minny League versus John Marshall, and Jake Truckenmiller, Brayden Bishop and Mac Nelson all had two hits apiece to lead a 10-hit attack in a 10-4 win.

Austin jumped out to a 6-2 lead courtesy of two runs in the first, two more in the second and two in the third.   They increased their lead to 9-2 with three in the top of the fourth, and after John Marshall tallied a run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the deficit to 9-3, Austin added another run in the top of the seventh on their way to the win.

Truckenmiller and Bishop were both 2 for 3 with a double for Austin, with Bishop also knocking in two runs.  Nelson was 2 for 2 with a double and two RBI’s, Dusty Copley was 1 for 4 with a double and a pair of RBI’s, Bray Klapperick was 1 for 4 with a run knocked in and R.J. Wieseler was 1 for 2 for Austin with a RBI.  Logan Murphy picked up the other hit for Austin and also drew a walk.

With the win, Austin finishes the regular season with a record of 5-3, and they will be back into action in the Southern Minny League playoffs next Monday night versus an opponent to be determined.
