Area volleyball roundup from Tuesday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics volleyball team kicked off a four-game homestand Tuesday night versus Southeast Conference rival LeRoy-Ostrander, and it was the Cardinals coming away with a 3-0 sweep 25-6, 25-19 and 25-16.

The Athletics were led offensviely by Lilly VaDeer, who tallied three kills and three digs, Autumn Drennan added one kill, plus she led LP in set assists with five, and she also chipped in five digs and one ace block, and Kate Rauen led the Athletics in digs Tuesday evening with nine.  LeRoy/Ostrander had two players with 10 or more kills, led by Benita Nolt, who racked up 14 kills, plus seven digs and three ace blocks, which was tops for the Cardinals in the match, Jordan Runde tallied 10 kills, six digs and three aces, which led the Cardinals, and Jenna Olson led LeRoy/Ostrander in set assists with 35, and in digs with eight.

With the loss, Lyle/Pacelli is now 0-10 in the Southeast Conference and 0-14 overall, and they return to action at home next Monday evening versus Glenville/Emmons, with the varsity match scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.  With the win, LeRoy/Ostrander is now 5-3 in the West Divsion of the Southeast Conference and 7-10 overall on the season, and the Cardinals will be looking for win number two in a row Thursday night at Glenville/Emmons, with the varsity start set for 7:15 p.m.

The Grand Meadow Superlarks, the first-place team in the West Division of the Southeast Confernence were looking to bounce back from a loss last Thursday night to state-ranked Spring Grove in Spring Valley Tuesday evening versus Kingsland, and it was the Larks coming away with a 3-0 win 25-5, 25-17 and 25-12.

Lauren Queensland led the ‘Larks in kills with 11 Tuesday evening, plus she also added four digs and three ace serves, Lexy Foster added nine kills and one ace block, Isablle Fretty supplied four kills, 25  set assists, which was tops for the club, seven digs and two ace serves, Kendyl Queensland chipped in four kills and 11 digs, which led the Superlarks Tuesday evening, Sydney Cotton tallied nine digs defensively and served up four aces, which led the squad Tuesday night, Heidi Weiss put down three kills and added an ace block, Rebecca Hoffman added one kills, seven digs and two ace serves, Sarah Wurst tallied seven digs defensively Tuesday evening and Haylie Paul added two digs in the win.

The Superlarks are now 7-2 in conference play and 9-5 overall on the season, and Grand Meadow returns to action next Monday evening versus LeRoy/Ostrander, with the varsity action scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m. that evening.
