The Grand Meadow Superlarks volleyball team played host to Houston in a Southeast Conference matchup Tuesday evening, and it was the Larks picking up their first win of the young 2020 season in a 3-0 sweep 25-7, 25-13 and 25-20.

Hailey Hindt piled up 15 kills to lead Grand Meadow in hitting, plus she added six digs and five ace serves in the winning effort.  Madison Hindt added six kills and 16 set assists for the Larks, River Landers tallied four kills and led Grand Meadow in ace blocks with four, Emma Grafe put up 16 set assists, Anna Oehlke led GM in digs with 16, plus she served up two aces, Lily Hughes led the Larks in ace serves with three and Sydney Cotten tallied seven digs for the Superlarks, who are now 1-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

In Gopher Conference action from Tuesday night, the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms were on the road at Meford to take on the Tigers, and it was the Tigers coming away with a 25-15, 25-13 and 25-19 sweep.

Micalyn Trihus tallied five kills, six digs, two ace blocks and three ace serves to help lead the Blossoms while Sierra Larson added five kills, two digs, three ace blocks and an ace serve.  Megan Oswald put down four kills and added two ace blocks for BP, while Maggie Bruns led the club with 11 set assists and chipped in three digs defensively.  Maren Forystek led the Blossoms in digs with 10 as Blooming Prairie fell to 1-1 overall with the loss and 1-1 in the Gopher Conference.

Elsewhere in the Gopher Confernence, the Hayfield Vikings were on the road Tuesday evening in Faribault to take on Bethlehem Academy, and the Cardinals were able to earn a four-set win on their home floor 25-16, 23-25, 25-20 and 27-25.

Jenna Jacobsen was one of two Vikings in double figures in kills with 16, plus she piled up 30 digs and added an ace block.  Haeven Skjervem added 11 kills, one ace block, 18 digs and a set assist, Caitlyn Hendrickson chipped in three kills, 10 digs, two ace blocks and one assist and Lexi Gerber tallied three kills, one ace block and one ace serve.  Maryx Young put down three kills for the Vikings, plus she put up 33 set assists to lead the club in that statistic and also added 22 digs, Gigi Galdamez added three kills, one ace block, one assist and three digs and Kenna Chick accumulated 26 digs and a set assist for the Vikings, who fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the Gopher Conference with the loss.
