The Southland Rebels girls basketball team hosted the Plainview/Elgin/Millville Bulldogs Thursday night in a Three Rivers Conference matchup in Adams, and the Bulldogs doubled up the Rebels on the scoreboard in the first half to deal Southland their third loss in their last four games 62-50.

Larissa Goslee had 15 points for the Rebels, while Kelsey Mensink tallied 12 points and Kayla Nelsen and Bailey Johnson scored nine points apiece for Southland, who trailed 44-22 at the half.  The Rebels are now 6-4 in Three Rivers Conference play and 10-6 overall on the season, and they will look to get back on the winning track next Tuesday at Grand Meadow.

In Hayfield, the Vikings played host to the Schaeffer Academy Lions in a non-conference matchup, and Cela Carney scored 11 points to help lead the lady Vikings with a 57-32 win.

Rachel Pack also reached double figures with 10 poins, while Taylor Burt and Lila Gronseth each tallied seven.  Ella Bauer and Kristen Watson each supplied six points in the win for the Vikings, who are now 9-8 overall on the season.

Hayfield returns to action Saturday night in New Richland for a game with NRHEG.  Varsity tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
